Red Thread Farm hosts several colonies of honeybees behind the barn, which pollinate our fruits and vegetables and provide an annual crop of delectable honey. The primary nectar sources here on the farm are tulip poplar, black locust and white clover, which make for a perfect flavor profile. You'll never go back to the grocery store version! Our honey is hand harvested and lightly filtered. We package in one pound BPA-free plastic jars with a mess-free gold squeeze cap. Cute jars with embossed honeybees make great gifts. (16 oz, 453 g)

about CRYSTALLIZATION
Many producers heat their honey to a high temperature to maintain its liquid form for longer periods of time. Honey that is not heat processed is called "raw honey" and contains more of the natural enzymes, pollen and other micro-nutrients which many people believe give honey it's health benefits. Because our honey is raw, it may turn to a semi-solid state called "crystallized" honey. This perfectly normal natural process results in honey that can be scooped out with a spoon. While it will readily melt in your tea, crystallized honey will not flow smoothly over a biscuit. If your honey crystallizes, you can easily return it to liquid form by placing the jar on the dashboard of your car on a warm day. Be careful not to leave the jar too long or the plastic will melt! Just understand that you may be destroying some of the micro-nutrients by heating your honey.
